Introduction

With the growing speed of Vietnam IT industry and the increasing number of local Vietnamese people who get interested into information security research as well as underground community, it is necessary to have an event that enables the dissemination, discussion and sharing of security information between the security community, government, academic organizations and companies.

VNSECON '07 is a non-profit security conference organized by VNSECURITY, IET and HCA, supported by General Department of Technology - Ministry of Public Security and Department of Posts & Telematics of Ho Chi Minh City.

VNSECON '07 aims to be a very unique security conference in Vietnam compared to most of other security conferences in the last few years, which usually came with full of products, vendors advertisements and/or full of boring and less technical talks. We organize a conference that gathers the top security experts, from the mainstream network security arena as well as the underground community, to share their researches, discoveries and experiences.

We promise to make it a great event for all security enthusiasts, regardless the colors on their hats.

Held at the same location (Exhibition Center, Phu Tho Sports Center) as VNSECON '07 conference is the Security Exhibition VNSECURITY SHOW 2007 from 1st - 4th, August, 2007. This Exhibition is organized by IET Company and Ministry of Public Security. All VNSECON '07 attendees have a free pass to the Exhibition.

Capture the Flag (CtF)

VNSECON '07 is also including a hacking competition, known as Capture the Flag - a contest first developed and presented at Defcon in Las Vegas, US. The idea behind a CTF competition is to allow teams to hack into prepared servers in order to retrieve marked files or flags on these target machines. Participants are also allowed to attack each other if it requires them to do so. The winner or winners, who obtain(s) the most number of flags in the shortest period of time - wins.

VNSECON '07 CTF game will be designed and run by members of CTF Organization Team who have delivered successful CTF games at annual HITB Security Conference and Bellua Cyber Security Conference. For detail information, please go to CtF page.
